A very quick post to share this photoshoot: Victoria Beckham for Glamour. Ah, how much do I love Victoria? She’s amazing. Here’s the interview. My usual complaint about Oriflame polishes is that they do not last. They go on nicely (this one is many years old, but is as smooth as ever), they’ve got lovely colours (though as it appears most of mine are rather sheer), they’re easy to take off… this could go hand in hand with the fact that they don’t last, I guess. This one, however, lasted so long that it bored me to tears. Tears. Being sick and not being able to stay upright long enough to remove it and not being able to stand the smell of polish remover didn’t help matters much. So I decided to spruce things up a little bit. Yes, well, what can I say, I’m very creative. It’s one of the “art” polishes with a thin brush. The colour looks much better & more vivid in the bottle. When you try to paint something with it on the actual nails, it just comes out glittery. Which isn’t bad at all, I love me a blue glitter. Except that the combination of brush and formula make it hard to apply in any kind of reasonably attractive manner. Unless you’re going for dots, I guess. Ohwell. The glittery thing was like, half a buck at the local market. I ranted about this all over my Twitter: It took me three coats, and even then the white looked a bit blotchy and uneven. So, lesson of the day is, don’t buy cheap white nail varnish. What I loved about it: It freakin’ lasts. It stayed on my nails for about a week, without any top coat. I think it would’ve stayed longer, but I got so bored, I actually started chipping it off myself.
Flormar is a Turkish cosmetics company that isn’t bad at all, especially for the price you pay for it. This polish is rather old, and the company has since then partially rebranded (one of the rebranding results I love, btw). I’ve got a couple more of their products. I’ll ramble about them as time goes by. |
